Jessie and Andrew in Japan

They arrived safe and cogent yesterday, and today we were all up by 4 am for a trip to Tsukiji Fish Market, a must for tourists with jetlag. After several hours of walking among the various stalls, seeing fish only Andrew could identify, and chatting up a few of the old salts who work there, we headed to the famous and ridiculously cramped Sushidai, for what is arguably the very best sushi to be had anywhere. Good fish, good times.

The two of them popped back to their hotel for a quick nap while I picked up Fusami at the airport, and we all had a lovely dinner in Ginza at one of my favorite izakaya chains. With her multilingual skills and experience, Jessie got along famously with Fusami, while at his insistence, I introduced Andrew to awamori.
